In 1866 a well-known dentist and surgeon from Shrewsbury was in the pub late one Monday night and heavily intoxicated. Thankfully for any patients he might have had the next morning, but sadly for him and his family, he wouldn’t be making it into work on Tuesday.
He was enjoying himself too much while at the Barge Inn and wanted to continue the party in the kitchen. Unfortunately he took a wrong turn and ended up dead!
